not true. my message said that this means the lists themselves have been available since 7/16, just that they were not mirrored at lists.blocklist.org like before. by default, pg2 will download it's...

Re: Questions before installing PG2

1.: we'd say it is still useful depending on the lists you choose, or how you customize them.
you can, for example, deny everything and only allow trusted ips. it's a paranoid approach and it takes...

check iana.net .
most probably a spoofed ip, can't tell without knowing the ip.
it's blocked, so no worries.

Re: allowing tcp listening port for bit torrent progs

pg is not capable of per-port filtering, it filters by ip.
never use ':1234' or anything in the lists. it might lead to parse errors.
the only 'per-port' setting pg has is to filter on port 80 or not.

Re: PeerUnguardian for 98se-ME. Why oh why?

pg 1 was also a massive cpu hog, you might remember.
pg 2 does what pg1 did, but with next to no cpu and ram usage.
and it does more. it just still can't block anything but tcp in win98 ;)

another workaround would be to allow the ips that come up blocked for 5 minutes via the right-click menu.
or disable the edu list for the time needed for updating.
if all else fails, try disabling pg...

Re: What About Proxycap???

proxies and pg dont mix.
when you use a proxy, the connection comes from your proxy,
and goes to your proxy.
and the proxy is of course allowed.

otherwise, you shouldnt p2p over public proxies,...

you can check for blocked ips during the update. then allow those needed, by right-clicking and allowing for 5 minutes.

Re: HELP! Is this bugged or something?

what it means is that it is a small image on our page that causes 64.34.180.144 to appear as blocked.
most of the blocks you're getting are probably coming from the ad list while you're browsing.

Re: PG2 blocks my dhcp server

the gov list has been incorporated into the p2p list by now, so there's no use in having that set.

Re: IP scan from forums.phoenixlabs.org(?)

you could use something like ethereal (http://ethereal.com) to sniff the traffic while your firewall reports a scan. that might give a hint as to what is causing this false positive

Re: HELP! Is this bugged or something?

the ip http://www.lighttpd.net/light_button.png is hosted on seems to be in a range that hosts fake emule servers. it's just an image with 'lighttpd' on it.
