Re: Question about runng PG at startup.

You can't remove them for good. If you remove them, then the next time you launch the GUI the apps will be started and added to the login items.

Re: Hide The #*$T^@% Dock Icon!

PG does autostart (via 2 login items - pploader and pplogger) you can also get the status bar item (it's optional though) and it too is launched via a login item (pgagent).

Re: Hide The #*$T^@% Dock Icon!

Everything that PG needs to block addresses runs in the background. The GUI is only used to configure lists. You do not need it for anything else, so simply quit the GUI when you don't need to...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

@foxx538: are you referring to the log file, individual log entries or the log window?

According to the installer the log the app is being installed at the following location:

Re: Unable to install PG 1.6 on OSX 5.8 - Snow Leopard

Check your hard drive for other entries of the PG app. The installer may be skipping install of the app because it thinks it already exists. There also might be a stale installer receipt in...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

I've fixed the quit bug for the next release. However, I cannot reproduce the global menu issue you are seeing. Are you on a 64bit system or a 32bit system? If the latter do you have any haxies...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

List changes are saved automatically when you either 1) select a different list or 2) close the list window (which also includes quitting the app). Can you describe exactly the steps you are taking...

Re: Question about runng PG at startup.

The login items are all that's necessary. The GUI is only needed for list configuration.

Re: PG OSX 1.4 Mod For Leopard-Member Posted

You revive an 18-month old thread (about a PG OS X fork no-less) to say that? Not only a troll, but the village idiot as well.

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

1.6b2 is now available. It should fix the list management problems. See the first post for the link.

Re: Unable to install PG 1.6 on OSX 5.8 - Snow Leopard

If you've moved the PG app outside of /Applications, the uninstaller won't catch it and therefore the install may still see it as an upgrade. Try manually deleting the app from wherever you moved it...

Re: 1.5.1 Log Window stops listing IPs?

It's not stopped blocking, it's just the logging program has lost it's way. Not sure why it does that some times, but you can just kill it (via activity monitor) and then relaunch the PG GUI to...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

Sorry about the new list bug, an update will be out soon to fix it. For name lookup to work, you must have a custom allow list that already exists. The update date of the list is now displayed as a...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

Yes, that is not a critical bug though. I said the only "major" difference. My time is very limited and keeping the supported configurations to a minimum is easiest for me. Sorry, but that's just...

Re: PeerGuardian 1.6

Sorry, PPC support is gone for good. The only major difference in 1.6 is 64bit support and that only makes sense on 10.6. You can continue using 1.5.1 on your G4.

Re: Unclear List Configuration in freshly installed PG for OS X

Bluetack has network problems at times. Nothing PG can do about it. However PG includes the i-blocklist lists as well as the Bluetack lists so you get the most coverage possible. These network update...

Re: PROBLEM: Snow Leopard (10A432) 64-Bit - PG wont start

The 64bit kernel requires a 64bit kernel extension. 1.5.x does not support that.

Re: 1.5.1 Can't Download

There was a bug in older versions of PG with the auto-updater. This should be fixed in 1.5.x. So to get to 1.5.x, simply grab it manually:
