First i would like to apologise if this is in the wrong part of the forum to be asking this. and also apologise for my bad grammer/spelling....


Last night i encountered a problem with PG2. Normaly i just click update to update my block list. is this not what we are suppose to do? it has been working fine since last night and now i get the "error contacting URL" message.


Are we suppose to download the block lists sepretly like with PG1?
Or is there something i can do to make PG2 update with the update button again?


Im not sure if this is coverd in another thread or not ( i did look around ) but if someone dosnt mind, could someone please post a step by step instruction as to what i should do to update pg2 from now on?

I have the same problem running Beta A will Beta B remidy this or will there be a future upgrade with valid list links? In the interum can we manually download lists?

On a side note will PG2 change to PL2 or P2????? :)

mr movies thanks for ur reply. i am not exaclty sure how to check the version of PG2, however i do think i am already up to date with the version... as i have installed an update for pg2 already...

is not the error i get. the error i get is simply "error contacting URL" so my assumpsion is that since the site got changed my programe is still set to search for blocklists from a no longer active domain..

thus comes the questions,
do i need to manuly dl updates? if so where?
is there a new link to incert into the programe? if so whats the link and where in the options do i add the new update link......

any admin or mod who knows how i can fix this can u please leave some detailed instrusions on how to update my PB block list!!!

you can check what version you have by doing this =
1. righ click on the pg2 icon in the system tray
2. choose About and read the first line there

The latest version is beta 6b, if you doesn't have this one installed, do this =
1) uninstall whatever beta version you have
2) delete the .conf file and the .list files(in the lists folder)
3) install beta 6b.

If you still are using the blocklist.org lists, then the adresses is aren't working because everything is removed there.
