Default New Here - Please Help

Hello,

I am new on this board and new to PeerGuardian. Few months ago I got a letter from my ISP informing me that they had info about my downloads and that I should stop or else...

I did some research and found that this letter is just a warning and that they just cover their own behinds and that I should not worry too much. I am not sure how true this is, but I stopped using Bit Torrent for a couple of moths.

Now I feel that its a good time to get back and get some things that I need, but in the back of my head I am still slightly scared of the letter, and of any future letters or warnings.

I found out about PG and decided to give it a try, but before doing so I would like to ask you guys about how really safe it is, and how to properly use it. I red the instructions and the wiki page, and I still have a few questions:

Which lists, if any do I need to use and where would I get them?
What is the safest way to use Bittorrent? Do I just turn on PG and then go to my favorite torrent site and d/l what I need or do I do something else?
What other steps I should take to protect myself?

Thanks in advance for any help.

*BUMP*

Pretty much same story as above im definately a P2G newb just installed it. Ive been caught about 6 times by my cable company. They turn off my Internets make me "delete" the content then they turn it back on. They said theres really no 3 strike rule but if they get enough complaints im turned off for life.

Friends of mine use Newsgroups but I prefer the speed and ease of torrents. Any way I can keep using torrents?
