Thanx!!
First, you need to read all you can about µTorrent, starting with this Sticky. This thread has many links in it. You should make sure you read everything on each link. This way you can make an informed decision as to whether or not to keep using µTorrent, especially since Bittorrent and µTorrent have merged.

http://forums.phoenixlabs.org/t12995...el-1-list.html
BITTORENT AND µTORRENT/Some IPs Blocked in Sourceforge p2p/BT's Level 1 list

If, after reading up on this app, you feel you still want to use µTorrent, then you can learn how to allow IPs using the PG2 Manual found in our Wiki:

http://wiki.phoenixlabs.org/wiki/Main_Page

There is lots of good info in our Wiki, so read through it and post if you still have questions.

Thanks,

I know how to allow IPs in PG. I've been using PG for a few years. I am new to the BT programs having only used two of them and only for about a year. I was just wondering if it safe to allow the range for uTorrent or if I should get another BT program to use.

you have to make the decition we can just give you the facts
if you trust utorrent then yes allow the IP but you should educate yourself with the facts that Pepsi_One linked to before you make the decision

again its a matter of opinion but if you want mine then i would have to go with Azureus
the problem is that utorrent was so good that choosing something else is difficult
haven't tried it myself but phrosty (PG2 developer) created a simple bittorrent client called "Arctic Torrent" so you might want to check that out

You can use this comparison of file sharing apps found on Wikipedia for starters:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...g_applications
Comparison of file sharing applications, From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As haker0 said, I just wanted you to be informed about µTorrent. After you know all the facts, you can make the decision for yourself whether or not to use it.

Thanks,

Just be sure to read which Network the apps in that wikipedia link use because not all applications are Bittorrent applications if you are looking specifically for a bittorrent application.

Here is Wikipedia's comparison of just BitTorrent apps:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wikiComparis...rrent_software
Comparison of BitTorrent software

This will probably help you more than the other link I posted.
