There should be no problem with understanding what SwifticAB is if you take the time to read this whole thread.

And, to find out more info about the Bittorrent/µTorrent situation, you could read this thread, including all of the links in it:

BITTORENT AND µTORRENT/Some IPs Blocked in Sourceforge p2p/BT's Level 1 list

Arctic Torrent (same developer as PG2) - http://int64.org/arctic.html
Azureus - http://azureus.sourceforge.net

Now, hold on. I've been using uTorrent and PG2 with all the lists available in PG2 except the "edu" list. I've seen SwifticAB been blocked, but uTorrent still works.....in fact it seems to have been working faster since I installed PG2 (coincidence maybe?).

What's the deal? If uTorrent still works with the blocks, am i safe?

So how does blocking swifticab affect downloads with utorrent? I'm new to this whole thing. Does it make them slower or what?

It would seem that DHT works now. I'm running PG2 with all the lists updated and just turned DHT on and had my speed increase from around 100kB/s to between 230 - 250kB/s. What happened?

if you did not modify lists in pg2 and dht works in ut, my hunch is they changed the ip they use to connect to dht network, which I see as bad news, since it means they'll probably keep jumping with it to avoid getting it blocked...

To the point of clients - very briefly:

bitcomet - closed source, medium heavy on resources, supports most necessary and some extra things (including things you do not want usually like downloading normal files). Has advertisement in it. Was/is blocked on some private trackers due to cheating in earlier versions.
utorrent - practically best client under windows - light and great functionality, but is owned by antip2p guys, like mailniline (original torrent client). So make up your mind if you want to keep using it after reading about it from links above.
azureus - most advanced client under windows, but very system demanding - so if your pc is a beast - azureus is your number one choice really, otherwise depending on how paranoid you are.
runners up:
arctic - very basic and light client by Phrosty - no dht support, written a while ago and not updated since.
halite - dht, blocklist support, based on libtorrent library - perspective runner up, very light too, but it isn't final version.
google for links. if you're need a light client with dht and are up to experiment a bit - I'd give halite a shot.
the rest is not to be taken seriousely at the moment in my opinion.

@ Lost Angel, Just wanted to say I've read this whole thread and found my self confused till I read your post thank you for putting the issue in black and white for me.

First off what is DHT? If there is a link to where I can read about please post for me it'd be greatly appreciated. Second thing here is I'm seeing a lot of the same basic writing saying that UTorrent is a security issue in it's self. Now what I've read from Lost Angel is they are changing the IP to get around PG2 block lists? And UTorrent you said is owned by AP2P, I assume you're talking about... I think it was "ReDirector of Peerfactor".

So plain and out right, I'm using UTorrent have been for over a year and always run PG2 when I am using it and when I'm done getting my things I empty my Application > UTorrent folder (I know it doesn't make an impact emptying it, just a habbit) then I erase internet history (FireFox) do a diskclean up and most of the time restart my computer for RAM sake. So anyway the question I have is PG2 has been working properly and I get some blocks so I know it's working right, but do you recommend I continue the use of UTorrent or explore other options?

!!!!EDIT!!!!
Thanks to Pepsi posting some very very useful articles I took the time to read through I no longer need an answer to my question.

i dont think the IP has changed for quite a while and I am positive they are not changing the IP to get around PG2.

utorrent is owned by bittorrent inc and that company does do business with movie/music studios but calling bittorrent inc AP2P is not accurate.

other then using PG2 everything else you say you are doing there is a complete waist of time.

i see no reason to recommend that anyone stop using utorrent.
