Default utorrent and peerguardian

i'm a little confuse and hopefully someone could clear things up for me.

1. since peerguardian is blocking utorrent, am i right to say if i uncheck level 1 blocklist, i would be able to use utorrent as per normal?

2. how about those who use some other torrent client and peefguardian at the same time, would i be able to share my files to them or would i be denied uploading since i'm using utorrent and they are using peerguardian and that their peerguardian would block me from uploading to them.

i do hope u understand what i'm saying as i'm not exactly sure how should i phrase this situation.

Yes, if you did that you certainly could use µTorrent with less problems (some of the IPs are in BT's Level 3 list, though). However, Doing this would leave you with NO PROTECTION AT ALL. The level 1 list is for use with p2p apps. The better thing to do (if you trust sites that PG2 blocks) is to permanently allow these IPs. This will allow you to use µTorrent and still have some protection. You really need to read all the threads here concerning the safety of using µTorrent, especially since Bittorrent/µTorrent have merged. Your safety is really in jeopardy.

I have been told by the ppl at Bluetack that ordinary p2p users probably won't be affected by the addition of the Bittorrent/µTorrent blocks to their Level 1/Level 3 blocklists.

Please, for you own info, do a "Search" for µTorrent here and read up on this app.

There is not a block in the lists that will make utorrent not work!!! It may block DHT but that will not make utorrent useless.

We have got reports that utorrent is going out to some ip's like ns2.utorrent.com etc but that is not needed to run utorrent. You may need to unblock it if you wish to update your client, wich at this point is not recommended. It is also not recommended at this point to use any utorrent build that does not use protocol encryption as this will let known bad clients connect to you.

Take a look at this sticky. It pretty much says it all.

Has links to other threads that deal with µTorrent.

BITTORENT AND µTORRENT/Some IPs Blocked in Sourceforge p2p/BT's Level 1 list

boomslang20117, PLEASE READ!

Thanks,
