Post Does this mean the Department of Defense is trying to access my computer?

Ever since last Thursday, this has been happening:

I'm not really versed in firewalls and such, so I'm not sure if that's incoming or outgoing and I've only had PG2 for like a month.

My computer could be on, connected to the internet, it's not doing anything(p2p, surfing the web, downloading, etc; just idle) and these access attempts roll in. I get about five to ten per hour. I wasn't sure if it was the doing of a trojan/spyware/etc so I tried cleaning my PC. I used Ad-aware and Spybot. They turned up with nothing but the usual stray tracking cookie. I then DL Microsoft Anti-spyware at the suggestion of a friend and tried that. It caught about 4 suspicious things that didn't belong there and I removed them. Though, after all of that, DoD still pops up in my PG2 log. Usually the only time something shows up in my log is when I use P2P(LimeWire) or surfing the web with HTTP blocked. Other than that, nothing ever showed up before while idle.

These three just rolled in as I was typing this. =/

Another strange thing is the fact that I'm on dialup. My IP is dynamic yet some how it always seems to find me.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

I am not sure what would be causing this. I have been hit a few times by the American DOD. I'm not really worried, but I live in Canada. I got hit by it while using Kazaa.

The DoD always scan everyone to check to see if your a terrorist. They look for suspicious activity.

LoL. I find that hard to believe. It's an invasion of privacy. There's a reason cops need a warrant before they can check you or your belongings. Besides, what could they hope to find on my computer? My bandwidth is so limited, it would take them ten years to scan all 60gigs of my HDD. =)

I used to use Kazaa(the hacked version "Lite"), but I uninstalled it a while ago.

Is it possible this is the doing of some sort of spyware?

Then there is also the little matter of the FISA Act and the provision for a secret court which allows government agencies to obtain warrants without probable cause and not tell the person that there is a warrant issued against them. Basically allowing the government carte blanche access to....... pretty much everything within our borders.

Dont you just love these troubled times?

PS. There was a case about the japanese internment camps during WWII called Korematsu v. US and it ruled that the forced internment was justified and to date that case has never been over turned.

That's surprising since there was some great compensation for interned Japanese families.
