Well the good thing is that they are blocked...PG2 is doing its job...the things you should worry about are the baddies that do not get blocked....if you are getting a lot of blocks that is a good thing...shows everything is working correctly with PG2. i wouldn't worry about it...just make sure to have PG2 up and running and up to date

Heyho,

I hope you are referring to this range:

SwifticAB:72.20.34.144-72.20.34.159

Why is this blocked in L1?

We made a poll last week here to let the users decide, what to do with Bittorrent Inc, utorrent and other p2p-apps makers that make deals with the entertainment industry.

Swiftic AB is blocked bc utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) is in there, and the range belongs to bittorrent.com.

Code:
network:Network-Name:STAMINUS-72.20.34.144
network:IP-Network:72.20.34.144/28
network:IP-Network-Block:72.20.34.144 - 72.20.34.159
network:Organization;I:SwifticAB
****************************@staminus.net, *****@bittorrent.com
So, if you are using utorrent - which I believe you do - you can decide if it is safe for you to allow the IPs from/to there. And I wonder why you get that many blocks from that range...

SwifticAB:72.20.34.144-72.20.34.159, is now blocked by BT in its Level 1 list (which is the same list as our Sourceforge p2p list) for the following reasons:

I have made this a sticky so all users of utorrent will know that this p2p app is now blocked in the p2p list. Use your best judgement as to whether or not you unblock it

I have also renamed the thread to: UTORRENT BLOCKED BY SwifticAB Anti P2p? so it is more meaningful to our readers.

Thanks,

These are the IPs that Bluetack has recently added to the p2p list to block certain activities of µTorrent/Bittorrent now that they have merged. This range does block the µTorrent website.

I don't understand the second part of your question "since it wasn't blocked when i didn't have PG". How would this have been blocked if you didn't have PG2??

No, you don't have to worry if it was blocked. That's what PG2 does, block IPs.

SwifticAB:72.20.34.144-72.20.34.159 is in the Sourceforge p2p/BT Level 1 list now. So, if you have the latest update to this list (these lists are the same, just different names) then this range is in there. So, you should see blocks if you use Bittorrent/µTorrent.

As long as PG2 is blocking IPs correctly, you don't have to worry. But, you need to make sure you keep your blocklists updated and make sure that HTTP block is on when you are p2ping.

And, remember, PG2 is not 100% protection. There will always be IPs for badcorps that we haven't found out about yet. That is why there is an ongoing search for new IPs to block.

Hi All, new here in the forums.
I've been using utorrent and PG2 for a long time, and just today I decided to turn on DHT, as a torrent was painfully slow (not alot of seeders) and noticed rightaway that PG2 was blocking "SwifticAB" 72.20.34.145:6881 UDP and realized that its to do with utorrent trying to login on to DHT.

I am new also and am having a problem. It seems that my uTorrent wont login to DHT. I cant get the program working at all. I did notice that PG is blocking it. How do I work around this? Should I unblock it or do I need a different P2P program now??

Thanx!!
